Why you chose your major

I've always wanted to have a career in the medical field since I was in middle school. After some consideration of the various avenues available, I decided pre-physician assistant was the right choice for me. Majoring in biology exposed me to different science courses that would help me prepare for graduate school and my career.

I chose my minors since they complement my major and fulfill my interests. I chose a biochemistry minor because it requires only one additional course outside of my major and pre-professional track. I chose my psychology minor because I took an introduction level psychology course, and it got me interested in learning more about the human mind and its functions. Since I want a career interacting with other people, a psychology minor is a great way to support my understanding of interactions with people.

Favorite and/or most impactful course

Organic chemistry I and II have had the biggest impact on me so far. They've taught me so much about my tenacity as well as how to manage my time and study effectively.

Other involvement

Besides being a CAS ambassador, I am a general member of the Pre-PA club where I have been provided with information about applying to graduate school and the profession, a chance to network with other students and practicing PAs, and the opportunity to volunteer in the Lincoln community.

Why you chose Nebraska

I wanted to expand my horizons and experience life outside of Pennsylvania where I grew up. I also knew that UNL has a great medical program, student organizations, and is more affordable than a lot of universities!

Student Ambassadors are undergraduate students who talk to prospective students, parents, alumni, and the general public about the college.
