On Feb. 21, University of Nebraska-Lincoln history professor Parks Coble will host a talk on daily life in wartime Japan between 1937 and1945, shedding light on what the home front was like for Japanese citizens and the legacy it left on Japan for the last half of the 20th century.

“The legacy of the war is still very active in East Asia,” Coble said. “It comes up in relations between China and Japan, and South Korea and Japan quite regularly. Which is surprising, considering the war has been over for 70 years.”
