Why you chose your major

I chose my major due to my pre-med track and my minors just come from some side interests that I’ve developed over the past couple of years.

Favorite and/or most impactful course

I think the biggest impacting class has been Organic Chemistry 1. Im still currently taking it but I’ve found I actually really like the course. I think part of that problem solving aspect of it makes me even more excited to go to Medical School.

Research or internship experience

I currently do research in Dr. Helikar’s lab. I work with T-cell differentiation and testing various drugs to treat influenza strains.

Other involvement

I am currently on the Honors Advisory Board, in the Honors Program, and in the Doctors without Borders club here.

Why you chose Nebraska

It was close to home and I had really good financial aid. Plus a wonderful atmosphere!
