Why you chose your major

After a lot of major exploration early on, one constant for me throughout was that I always enjoyed my math classes. Ultimately this is what drove my decision to pursue the subject full-time.

Favorite and/or most impactful course

That's a tough choice but I really loved MATH 310, Intro to Modern/Abstract Algebra. This class was a gateway into a new "world" of math for me and really opened my eyes to what math truly is and can be.

Research or internship experience

In MATH 435 we are working with local entities and mathematical modeling experts to explore epidemiological models and conduct research specifically relating to the current models and data for the COVID-19 pandemic. It is very neat to work on something so relevant in today's society and to experience cutting edge research as an undergraduate student—a rare opportunity.

Other involvement

Pi Kappa Alpha (PIKE), Cornhusker Marching Band. (Potentially CASSAB soon.)

Why you chose Nebraska

The cost benefits for me of attending in-state with scholarships outweighed other factors in my decision, especially considering I was entering college undecided on a major. It was an easy decision considering I grew up going to Husker games and a lot of my family attended here as well.

Student Ambassadors are undergraduate students who talk to prospective students, parents, alumni, and the general public about the college.
