Why you chose your major

I've always loved computers and find the tech industry fascinating and exciting. I can't imagine doing anything else.

Favorite course

I love my Human-Computer Interaction course. We learned about how to design software such that it is easy for as many people to use as possible. It helped me realize the direction I wanted my career to go.

Research or internship experience

For two summers, I've been an intern at Intuit in San Diego working on TurboTax. I functioned as a junior software engineer. I worked with a team of engineers on various aspects of TurboTax. I absolutely loved the experience and was so fortunate to have such an opportunity.

Other involvement

I am involved in greek life and have served as the Academic Excellence Chair of my sorority. I also serve as the Secretary of Computing for All, the Computer Science and Engineering Department's diversity-focused organization. I am also a student in the Raikes School and have participated in Relay for Life and Dance Marathon.

Why you chose Nebraska

I chose UNL because it felt like home. Once I visited campus, I knew this was my place. I am originally from Kansas City, so I'm not too far from home, but far enough. I was able to get scholarships to ease the out-of-state financial burden. Above all, though, I couldn't see myself anywhere else.

Student Ambassadors group

Student Ambassadors are undergraduate students who talk to prospective students, parents, alumni, and the general public about the college.
