Why you chose your major

I came into college not sure what I wanted to major in. I decided to take my ace courses and use them as a way to discover what I was interested in. I took a course in Sociology and I was very intrigued. I found myself wanting to know more about the subject and ended up taking another class. My second semester sophomore year is when I finally declared Sociology.

Favorite course

I would say my favorite course that I have taken so far is Sociology of Crime. This is the class that first introduced me to my major and made me think about many different situations that had never crossed my mind. I started to look at situations in a different way and ask myself why things were how they were.

Other involvement

I'm involved with the Camp Kesem Chapter on UNL campus. We fundraise all year around so that we are able to put on a summer camp free of charge for kids whose parent(s) have or have had cancer.

Why you chose Nebraska

I visited other colleges but I couldn't see myself going to school there. UNL felt like home to me and I couldn't picture myself going to school anywhere else. It was a pretty easy decision for me because it just felt right.

Student Ambassadors group

Student Ambassadors are undergraduate students who talk to prospective students, parents, alumni, and the general public about the college.
