Why did you select your major(s) and minor(s)? Were there any experiences that convinced you to declare?
I was originally a bio major freshmen year, and then someone told me about biochemistry and I found myself drawn to it. From then, my advisor recommended the math and chem minors.
What is your favorite course you have taken from your program(s)?
So far my favorite course I have taken has been Calculus II and Calculus III. I love math and the teachers for those classes were very helpful and did an amazing job.
Who have been some of your strongest mentors or role models here?
My strongest mentors have been the older members of my sorority, especially those that have entered the medical field.
Do you have research experience?
Yes, I am currently working in Dr. Seung-Hyun Ro's lab to focus on the stress-inducible proteins sestrins and their role in metabolic signaling in cancer and obesity.
What are you involved in on campus?
I am involved in CASSAB, Alpha Phi Sorority, CCAC for the College of Arts and Sciences, and UCARE.
What are your plans after graduation?
My plans after graduation are to attend Medical School.
Student Advisory Board is a liaison between students and the college’s deans, faculty and staff, representing student interests on college curriculum and appeal committees.
