Why you chose your major

I enjoy the mixture of life science and chemistry that the biochemistry degree offers. It is applicable to a broad range of topics and allows flexibility when searching for a future career.

Favorite and/or most impactful course

My favorite course so far has been Literature and Climate Change. I have always been passionate about the environment, but this class re-awoke my interest in the subject. It is the reason I decided to change my career focus from neuroscience to environmental chemistry.

Research or internship experience

I have recently started working in Dr. Corman's lab studying photosynthetic rates of algae in Holmes Lake. I am super excited to get my hands dirty and learn more about this topic!

Other involvement

I am involved in the honors program, the CAS connects mentor program, undergraduate research, horticulture club, and am a teaching assistant.

Why you chose Nebraska

When I came for a campus visit and was walking along I had a sudden, intense gut feeling that I was supposed to go to UNL. It surprised me since I was highly considering going out of state. I decided to follow my instincts and now could not imagine going to school anywhere else!!!

Student Ambassadors group

Student Ambassadors are undergraduate students who talk to prospective students, parents, alumni, and the general public about the college.
