Global Studies

Why you chose your major

After taking a couple geography classes, I fell in love with the subject. I later added global studies because, for my interests, it pairs nicely with geography.

Favorite and/or most impactful course

Geography of Africa! I learned so much in that class and really grew to admire the region. Because of that class, one of my biggest life goals is to volunteer with the Peace Corps in an African country.

Research or internship experience

I did an internship with Dr. Buller and the Geography Program. This experience allowed me to interact and network with all of the Geography faculty members as well as some faculty throughout the School of Global Integrative Studies (SGIS) and CAS. It was also special because I got to work for the program that I've really come to love and has changed my life course.

Other involvement

I am a member of Phi Mu, Student Advisory Board (CASSAB), and I am currently the Vice President of the Geography Student Organization.

Why you chose Nebraska

I came to Nebraska for so many reasons, but the people at UNL really made the greatest impact. During the entire college search process, Nebraska always stood out because the people were the nicest and most helpful.

Student Ambassadors group

Student Ambassadors are undergraduate students who talk to prospective students, parents, alumni, and the general public about the college.
