Why you chose your major

I chose to major in psychology because I am passionate about mental health and I felt that a UNL psychology degree would best prepare me for a career in therapy! Psychology is also incredibly interesting and the #UNLPsych faculty members are so amazing!

Favorite and/or most impactful course

The class that has made the biggest impact on me is Clinical Psychology (PSYC489) with Dr. Esseks! I have learned so much important and interesting information that I know will be invaluable in my future! It is a great class, and Dr. Esseks is an inclusive and engaging professor!

Research or internship experience

Last summer I was able to intern at Ambience Counseling Center in McCook, Nebraska! I had the opportunity to shadow, perform office duties, and work hands on with mental health counselors. It was a wonderful experience that was made even better by wonderful people!

Other involvement

I am involved in Gamma Phi Beta (Membership Retention Chairwoman) , Out of the Darkness UNL (Co-Assistant Walk Chair), Psi Chi (President), NHRI Leadership mentoring (JP Central Tri-Chair), and Omicron Delta Kappa (Secretary)!

Why you chose Nebraska

I decided to come to Nebraska because I wanted to stay close to home, but I also wanted to have plenty of opportunities. Nebraska was the perfect balance!
