Why you chose your major

I've always loved math and found the math major on the data science track to be super flexible, which allowed me to pursue a lot of my different academic interests.

Favorite and/or most impactful course

I'm currently enrolled in Draw 202 for my art minor. I haven't really engaged in art since high school and this class has really reignited my passion. When coming to college, students might feel pressured to only pursue commitments strictly related to their future career, but taking an elective class or even minoring in something you enjoy outside of your major can be really refreshing!

Research or internship experience

This past summer I participated in SUAMI at Carnegie Mellon University. It was an amazing research experience that taught me so much about graduate school and industry options in the data science field. I met a lot of cool people and was able to spend the summer in Pittsburgh doing applied math research.

Other involvement

My main participation on campus is with the Lied Center Student Council as treasurer, Association of Women in Mathematics as co-president, and as a College of Arts and Sciences ambassador on the leadership team. I also have an on campus job.

Why you chose Nebraska

I really wanted to go out of state and was offered a good scholarship.

Student Ambassadors are undergraduate students who talk to prospective students, parents, alumni, and the general public about the college.
