Why you chose your major

I have always been in love with politics and international affairs. Since doing Model UN in high school I have always loved doing research about how other countries work together and how each country's backgrounds affect their decisions on certain policies. Also history has always been my favorite subject in school, to me it's like extravagant storytelling that is true.

Favorite course

My favorite course I've ever taken at UNL is Russian 101 because it introduced to the beautiful Russian language. Without my wonderful professor, Dr. Tytarenko, I don't think I would have stuck with the language. Dr. Tytarenko made such a distant language so approachable, and without her I would never have chosen to minor in Russian.

Research or internship experience

Because I was a UNL student, a UNL alum reached out to me about an internship at an upcoming global resource company. The internship has been such a wonderful opportunity because everyday I get to network with other globalists around the country as well as get access and knowledge about scholarships, resources, and programs I would have never known about without the company I am working for.

Other involvement

I am a member of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln's Debate team, which has been my favorite experience at UNL. I have met so many great friends from other schools, got to travel around the country, and even went to Nationals my first year where I got to see my own teammate, Colten White, win the entire tournament.

Why you chose Nebraska

I chose UNL because of the countless opportunities it provides to its students. There's not a day that goes by where my advisor for my majors haven't sent me an opportunity for students like me to go after. I am constantly surrounded with great resources, and always being encouraged by my professors to go the distance. UNL is a big school that gives you a small school experience, and that really drew me to the school even though it was so far away from my hometown.
