Why you chose your major

I picked up biology as my major because it allowed me to take advantage of new interdisciplinary careers and offers me great flexibility in my career paths. I was always so passionate about learning about mechanisms of human body, and enjoyed learning about all the different science fields.

Favorite course

One of my favorite course that I have taken is Bios 207 Ecology and evolution. I enjoyed studying this because it provided me the opportunity to understand the relationships between living organisms, including humans, and their physical environment and helped me to understand the world around me better. One of the coolest things about this class was it provided me information about the benefits of ecosystems and how we can use Earth's resources in ways that leave the environment healthy for future generations. It was indeed amazing class i have ever taken.

Research or internship experience

I am a teaching assistant for chem 109 class. A love of working with children and the ability to manage groups of pupils helped me a lot to become a successful TA. Best part of my job is to learn and grow every single day as the school year develops. I aid the main instructor with under achieving or struggling pupils.

Other involvement

I am a president in Global peer mentor student organization. Global peer mentors serve as academic, leadership, and social role models for UNL undergraduate students by sharing their own successes and lessons learned throughout their academic journey. My role as a president is to call biweekly meetings for my student organization, organize events for domestic and international students, assist all executive officers and maintains harmony throughout organization.

I chose UNL because it offers great scholarship opportunities and it is one of the safest place to come and study. It offers diverse culture around campus and have awesome opportunities of research at Undergraduate level.
