Why you chose your major

I picked my majors because I love analyzing literature and film. I have a deep interest in creative writing and film making.

Favorite course

Favorite Course: ENGL208, which focused on Gothic and Mystery literature. This class involved analyzing Gothic literature and Mystery novels from authors like Bram Stoker, Mary Shelley, and Jane Austen. The class was highly demanding with many papers and projects, but I feel I learned how Gothic literature was a staple in how the concept of the novel was invented and it's helped me see the history of English literature more clearly than any class has since.

Research or internship experience

My favorite experience outside of class was when Dr. Tytarenko asked me to make a promotional video for the Russian Department, because of my experience with film studies. I learned valuable leadership skills from the opportunity and got in touch with several students in the Russian program.

Why you chose Nebraska

I chose UNL, because it was close to home and I felt too much of an attachment to my friends and family and where I live to give it up for my college experience. On top of Nebraska being a Big 10 school, I understand that a degree from UNL would be very beneficial and provide a great education. The English program at UNL is the best in Nebraska, so UNL was my first choice for college.

Student Ambassadors group

Student Ambassadors are undergraduate students who talk to prospective students, parents, alumni, and the general public about the college.
