Why you chose your major
I had a computer applications class in 9th grade, I really enjoyed that class and quickly understood that I enjoyed problem solving and that it was something I would like to do for my bachelors.
Favorite and/or most impactful course
My favorite course was an electrical engineering one. I took that course in my sophomore year when I was still a computer engineering major. The course helped me understand what I really enjoyed in the field of computing and what things I wasn't interested in. It helped me define my future a little better, and as a result I changed my major soon after.
Research or internship experience
I have had two internships so far. My first internship was at Experian (the credit score company) as a software development intern. It was my very first industry experience. My second internship was at Microsoft just this last summer. My internships really helped me understand that I wanted to work in the industry after I graduated.
Other involvement
In the past, I have been involved in numerous student organizations including the India Students Association helping incoming freshmen from India make UNL a place they could home, and Initialize, which is an RSO within the CS department that focuses on giving back to the community using our computational skill. I am also a Senior Leader for the Learning Assistants Program in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering.
Why you chose Nebraska
Nebraska seemed like a place where I would have plenty of opportunities to take advantage of. Apart from being affordable, I was pulled by the culture and husker spirit.
Student Ambassadors are undergraduate students who talk to prospective students, parents, alumni, and the general public about the college.
