Why you chose your major

I love to study how people work and why they do what they do. I also really enjoy helping people, and Psychology is able to give me the necessary tools to do so.

Favorite course

My favorite course so far has been Intro to Psychology. Although it sounds just like a basics course for a Psyc major, it crystallized my desire to earn my degree in it. It gave me a broad view of all the categories I will be able to learn for the rest of my undergrad.

Research or internship experience

This summer I am traveling to Bilbao, Spain to study abroad. I will complete my Spanish requirements needed for my degree, and I also am able to take one more course that focuses on the Spanish culture. This opportunity was presented to my Spanish class, so I decided to apply. This will allow me to expand my knowledge in a unique way and come back to UNL with new skills.

Other involvement

I was able to earn a position in a research study. I tutored two sixth-grade students in basic algebra ideas. After the tutoring sessions were completed, I graded the tests of the students to collect data. I then organized the data on the computer so it was able to be shared.

Why you chose Nebraska

Since I was a child, I always imagined going to UNL so as I got older, this dream stuck with me. I loved the idea of being in state - especially for Husker Football. Coming from western Nebraska, I knew this would also give me the opportunity to grow since I would be 5 hours from my hometown.

Student Ambassadors group

Student Ambassadors are undergraduate students who talk to prospective students, parents, alumni, and the general public about the college.
