Why you chose your major
I chose to major in math because it is a field that I've always been interested in. When I got to UNL and started taking higher level math courses, I really got to experience how incredibly cool math can be, and during my freshman year, I switched from being a math minor to a math major.
Psych 181, because my professor was super awesome. She taught me so much about psychology, and the research that she's done actually lines up pretty closely with the research that I want to do in the future.
Research, education abroad, or internship experience
I am a Learning Assistant with the Math Department at UNL, which has been so much fun this semester. Math education is a field that I'm super interested in, and being able to work in that environment has sparked a lot of interesting research ideas for me.
I am a member of the College of Arts and Sciences Student Advisory Board. We serve as a link between students and faculty within the college, which gives us the opportunity to actually make/see impacts of what we do on students. Within CASSAB, I serve on the Fund Allocation, which gives funding to CAS Student Organizations. This has given me the chance to really see the true breadth that the College has, which is something that I really didn't comprehend before having this opportunity.
Why you chose Nebraska
Initially, I chose UNL because it was the most financially viable option for me. However, as soon as I actually got to campus and started classes, I knew that this was the place for me. I'm so in love with both the University and Lincoln, and I'm very excited to spend the next few years here.
