Why you chose your major

I picked my major because I love learning about life science and investigating why things are the way they work.

Favorite course

My favorite class so far has been Bios 465. In this class we learned about about the nervous system while taking into account how it affects behavior. We often had journal readings with our peers to look at current research that is being conducted.

Research or internship experience

I am currently a research assistant in the Clinical Neuroscience and NeuroPsychology lab with Dr. Chiou. In Dr. Chiou's lab we have constructed paradigms to test certain processes, such as metacognition, in those with Traumatic Brain Injury. In the lab we have used various machinery such as EEGs, and FMRI to observe certain proccesses. The goal of the lab is identify and explore the neural mechanisms in cognitive function, in patients with TBI.

Other involvement

UNL Navigators, Minority Pre-Health Association, Global Friends of Japan, Med Life.

Why you chose Nebraska

I choose to go to UNL because of the immense system I saw was provided to students. When I visited UNL they discussed the many resources that are available to student academically to succeed in their career of choice.

Student Ambassadors group

Student Ambassadors are undergraduate students who talk to prospective students, parents, alumni, and the general public about the college.
