In a range of categories—academics, character, you name it—Huskers excel at stretching their strengths. We support our students' efforts and are proud to recognize and share their accomplishments.

Alumni Association awards recognize a variety of accomplishments. This year's recipients:

  • Emily Conard, communication studies (and advertising/public relations through CoJMC): Roy and Catherine Yaley Student Leadership Award
  • Kate Vermilyea, English and psychology: Jack and Sharon Miller Award

Boren Scholarships are given to highly motivated people to learn critical languages and then work for the federal government for a year. This year's recipients:

  • Alex Christensen, global studies and geography: Urdu in India
  • Ethan McDermott, global studies: Nanzan University for Japanese
  • Grant Paisley, global studies and FrenchSenegal for French

The CAS Inclusive Excellence and Diversity Award honors people, organizations, or units within the college involved in innovative or exemplary activities that have an impact on inclusivity in the college, campus, or community.

Critical Language Scholarships expand the number of Americans studying foreign languages critical to national security and economic prosperity. This year's recipients:

Fulbright Scholarships forge lasting connections between Americans and citizens of other countries by enabling students and alumni to travel abroad to teach, study, and research. This year's recipient:

  • Adriana Miller, psychology and sociology: teach English in Taiwain

German Academic Exchange Service grants provide funding for study and research at German institutions. This year's recipients:

  • Andrew Haar, mathematics

Gilman Scholarships support credit-bearing study abroad. This year's recipients:

  • Saadi Al Saadi Bualaq, global studies (School of Global Integrative Studies): France
  • Alaa Ismail, political science: Spain
  • Mellisha Lambert, communication studies: Germany
  • Joana Reyes, psychology (and child, youth and family studies through the College of Education and Human Sciences): Spain

Graduate Research Fellowship Program awards from the National Science Foundation provide three years of support to graduate students pursuing degrees in STEM disciplines and have demonstrated the potential for significant research achievements. This year's recipients:

The Honors Program recognizes undergraduate students in four categories. This year's recipients:

The Innocents Society was founded in 1903 to promote the spirit of the university. The chancellor's senior honorary inducts 13 new members each spring, with selection based on leadership, academic achievement and service to the university and greater community.

  • Sport Club Athletes of the Year:
