The annual Student Impact Awards were announced for 2020-21 by Student Leadership, Involvement, and Community Engagement on April 15. The awards celebrate the outstanding contributions of Recognized Student Organizations (RSOs) and their leaders.
This year's nominees included 29 organizations and 42 individuals.
CAS recipients
Outstanding New Student Organization:
- UNL branch of Medical students United with Neighbors across America (MUNA), which was started by chemistry majors Makayla Gill and Kailynn Jensen.
Outstanding Student Organization Member:
- Madison Whitney, global studies (and environmental studies through CASNR), for Sustain UNL
Student Organization Philanthropy/Service Award:
- UNL branch of Medical students United with Neighbors across America (MUNA)
Outstanding New Advisor:
- Dr. Rachel Hart, classics and religious studies, for Classics Club
Sport Club Athletes of the Year:
- Jackson Goddard, mathematics (and chemical engineering through COE), Men's Soccer Club
- Allison Hinrichs, biochemistry (and nutritional science and dietetics through CEHS), Water Ski Club
Outstanding Student Organization President:
- Nicholas Harp, psychology/Graduate Studies, National Organization of Gay and Lesbian Scientists and Technical Professionals
Program of the Year:
- UNL Homerathon 2020: A Panhellenic Pandemic Performance, Classics Club
