We would not be running as smoothly without her and she steps in constantly when there are issues that are above and beyond the requirements of her position. “They say you should “make sure you have the right people on the bus” when staffing positions. Carolyn is, without a doubt, the right person for this position. Every day Carolyn exemplifies why this is true. She is professional, efficient, organized and very detail-oriented. More importantly she is warm, caring and welcoming. Carolyn has instituted many procedures to insure personnel actions are processed accurately and entered on time. She has amazing customer service skills and treats every employee in a way that she would want her own children treated. She builds relationships with new employees from the point she first meets them. Carolyn puts the ‘person’ in the Personnel Generalist! It should also be recognized that Carolyn is very team focused. She is supportive of her teammates in the OBC and is always willing to represent the team or college on committees. She recognizes the workstyles of others and adjusts her processes accordingly. She is willing to cover the office when others are unavailable. Carolyn makes sure that ‘life events’ don’t go unnoticed and can be a good listener and counselor if needed. In short, Carolyn is a huge asset to the OBC and to the college. We are fortunate that she is part of our team and I, for one, would like to start the Applause in her honor!”
