“Jen is meticulous in her work and always delivers a high quality product. This is most obviously evidenced in her recent Online P&T System project. Furthermore, she is well trusted among the faculty, staff, and administration of the university, which speaks for itself. When I was working in the Dean's Office, she never hesitated to help me and train me on various elements of my role that overlapped with hers. She is a great communicator and was always patient, even with my "stupid questions". I always appreciated her support and that she willingly shared her knowledge with me so that I could contribute better to the overall team success in the college. Jen is a huge asset to the Dean's Office and is definitely deserving of an Applause award for all of her hard work for the college!”

“Jen has been absolutely critical in helping our department successfully navigate a range of personnel issues, including dealing with tricky hiring questions and negotiating MOUs with units outside the college. Jen is a consummate professional--she's knowledgeable, responsive, and a world-class problem solver. She's also played a central role in developing and providing training on the new online promotion/tenure management system that is going to make a lot of our lives easier. Jen thoroughly deserves this recognition, she's one of those people we chairs all rely on to do our own jobs and she never lets us down.”

“Jen Bodfield went well beyond her assigned responsibilities this past year. She agreed to be the staff person in the Dean's Office to work with promotion and tenure. Not only did she take on what was done previously, but took it to an entirely new level. Her idea of having promotion and tenure go online became a reality with her and a few others efforts. She has learned the process forward and backwards and can answer almost any question regarding promotion and tenure and other faculty issues. Jen spent the summer working to get set up the online system and to have it posted online. If this is not enough, she is now training 300 faculty and staff over six training sessions on the process. The online process not only saves trees, but time and money. The staff in the Dean's Office no longer has to assemble promotion and tenure notebooks. Thank you, Jen! Revamping the promotion and tenure process is not the only responsibility that Jen does well. Jen is becoming an expert on all faculty issues. She is the go-to person for faculty questions. Please reward Jen Bodfield with the Applause Award. It would be well deserved! ”

“Jen Bodfield has vast knowledge of academic HR issues, a clear mind for recognizing problems, and the ability to translate this expertise into all the work she does with great precision and attention to detail. This is work of critical importance for the College; we know we can count on Jen to do it efficiently and accurately. Going far above and beyond her normal duties, she also has designed, with the help of the CAS IT team, the new on-line P&T system, which will be a a game-changer in the P&T process and a tremendous improvement for the College and its faculty. She is also serving now as an effective communicator in presenting the system to chairs, directors, and faculty, willingly taking on this extra work of multiple training sessions. I recommend Jen wholeheartedly for the Applause Award!”

“I am delighted to nominate Ms. Jennifer Bodfield for an Applause Award. As a longtime faculty member and especially as a department chair since 2011 I have seen the enormous and significant difference Jen has made in creating consistency and smart approaches to managing the length of the search process and providing excellent and clear training to make the process run smoothly. We have moved from the time that I would have to write multiple revisions of offer letters to have them come back from central administration with small changes, to Jen being able to anticipate and guide me through the process so expertly. Her work to develop the new system of online P&T documentation appears to be brilliant (it is just going into effect) and my faculty returned from training yesterday excited to move to this new system. I am greatly appreciative of the role Jen plays and am deeply grateful for her expertise and assistance. She is definitely an award winner in my mind and I would love to see her honored in this way.”
