Applause for Melody Scholl-Miller

Melody Scholl-Miller

Sr Tech Support Specialist
CAS Tech Team

“Melody provides a wide variety of IT supports for the Department of Psychology and I’ve been fortunate to benefit from her help on many occasions.  She is very dedicated, responsive, resourceful, patient, and she is always willing and able to be of assistance – even when it’s an urgent and unexpected problem she’s helping with.  We are fortunate to have Melody working with us and we appreciate her many valuable contributions and supports!  Melody greatly deserves our “applause!””

“Melody is very responsive to any request for help we submit.  She is usually very prompt at responding and very knowledgeable about the issues at hand.

If she is not familiar with the problem, she usually works hard to find a solution or some way to work around it.  She has been a huge help with all the updates and issues computers have after updates.”

“Melody is incredible. She has a tremendous responsibility on her shoulders, but also really encompasses the perspective that "every interaction matters." She is quick to offer to help, is extraordinarily competent, and is a team player. If she doesn't have the answer right away, she will dig and dig until she gets the answer. She's also very proactive, which allows units to avoid problems from developing in the first place. I am super grateful to Melody for being a wonderful person and offering her many skills to our Department, the College, and the University.

Thanks Melody!”

“Melody has gone from taking on 1 department to ~15 I believe in the span of a couple of years.  Yet she has remained extremely attentive to all areas of need and has worked hard to make help requests streamlined as well as to try to head off issues before they happen.  Her approach to this challenge has really helped her focus on bigger ticket issues and has allowed for a much faster turn around time than I think would exist otherwise. She is also always so friendly and eager to help with any kind of problem!  I really appreciate her timeliness and who she is as a person.  She is an amazing support and critical to the success of our department (and likely many others!)  We could do the work we do without her!”

“Melody has always been a strong department citizen and a dependable worker, but she has been really putting in extra work and time to make sure everything is running smoothly given all the additional technological updates and IT-regulation changes that have occurred over the past year.  Any time I reach out with an issue (including some tricky ones during our orientation week for new students) she is on top of everything and gets everything running smoothly quickly and with minimal hassle.  We're lucky to have her – please give her an Applause!”

“I wish to nominate Melody Scholl-Miller for the Applause award for several reasons. Melody is in charge of a multitude of departments' computer and IT needs. This includes monitoring and rectifying any problematic IT issues that arise or purchasing equipment for all faculty and staff. She also responds to emergent IT problems that need resolution immediately. Her knowledge of technical issues and programming of equipment allows her to successfully carry out CAS IT goals. I have witnessed her work on all the services of CAS IT: IT/Data Services, Network Services, Computer Services, Internet connectivity, Purchasing Computer Software/Hardware, Computer Software/Hardware issues, Data Storage options/recommendations, and sometimes on multiples of these within a single session! She never fails to identify a problem or determine the best solution to resolve an issue.

A second reason that Melody deserves the Applause award is her professionalism. Melody is kind, patient, and always ready to help. She goes above and beyond what is needed to solve a problem. She has stayed late to help with IT issues, and she has even met people at their location on campus in order to render accommodating service. Melody truly deserves to be  appreciated in a public forum, and the Applause award will demonstrate our acknowledgement of her dedicated service.”
