“In 2023 I have worked directly with Mike on the planning for three events (two completed and one in process) through the CSMCE. He has been a thoughtful member of these planning committees and in the third instance was working to support a summer teacher professional development through a grant I lead. Mike has a great knowledge of UNL resources and people, and this is a tremendous help when a planning committee is in both the brainstorming and problem-solving stages of an event. Mike is always willing to help think outside the box and takes any issues that arise in graceful stride. I also have had the benefit of Mike's diligent work in participating in a conference that he helped organize. I observed Mike to be of especially great support to out-of-town participants and helping them navigate physical spaces to ensure that they could focus on the content of the conference. In summary, I have appreciated how easily Mike has become a central member of the CSMCE staff and it feels as if he has been with the group for much longer than he has; the center and the university is lucky to have him!”

“Mike is an incredible asset to the CSMCE. He was a big part in ensuring the success of the Nebraska Conference for Undergraduate Women in Mathematics (https://math.unl.edu/ncuwm) and UNL Math Day (https://math.unl.edu/math-day-university-nebraska-lincoln). Both of these events are large outreach events. NCUWM promotes women in mathematics and encourages women to pursue graduate degrees. Math Day is an outreach event for high school students in Nebraska. This year more than 800 students participated in UNL's Math Day. Mike aided in preparing schedules, communicating with attendees before both events, reserving rooms, taking photos of the events, promoting the events, and working registration tables on the day of both events. His contributions were crucial to the success of NCUWM and Math Day.”
