Department of Psychology
“Pam has been an amazing resource for the department since she arrived. She has coordinated around a dozen Nebraska Symposia on Motivation, and they run so smoothly with her at the helm. Every year the visiting speakers comment on how well everything goes under her organization. And that's just one of many duties that she fulfills in the department. We've had a good bit of turnover in staff over the last few years, and Pam has been the rock that keeps things going as we transition to new staff. I'm sure from her end, things have been hectic and stressful, but from my end, I haven't noticed a difference because Pam steps up to get things done. And I'm excited to see that she is now transitioning to our finance specialist. Given all of her efforts over the years, I would love to see her kick off her new position with an Applause Award to recognize all of the amazing work she has done for the department.”

“This past year has been a time of great change in the staffing in our department. Pam assumed responsibility for the faculty and over 100 of our graduate students with Care and expertise and held our department together without a lot of support as we navigate these changing times. Her care for us, her diligence, her expertise, and her perseverance are something that I will not forget. She is a trusted colleague and a cherished friend, and she shows that to us in the Care that she places on her work with us in the department.”

“Pam has been a valued member of the Psychology Department for years. She has been a stable member of the department during times of substantial turnover. Pam has held down the fort. She has taken on extra duties because of recent departures, often in a front office that is nearly vacant. I'm not sure how the department could have run without Pam's efforts. She deserves some recognition.”

“Pam is one of our support staff responsible for multiple programs within the department. We recently had several staff leave and Pam went the extra mile to cover. This meant that she had to learn new fiscal and other administrative tasks (e.g., contract tracking, generation, etc.) while maintaining her own responsibilities. I was extremely impressed with the level of teamwork, focus and unwavering dedication she exhibited. She is deserving of more than an applause.”

“Pam Waldvogel is highly deserving of the applause award. She has gone above and beyond over the past many months. We've had two staff depart and several join the team. Pam has been essential to offering a smooth transition with her incredible institutional knowledge. I am also a new Chair, and Pam has been incredibly helpful as I learn the ropes. Finally, Pam took on new responsibilities and is now helping the Department of Psychology as a Finance/Grants specialist. I don't know what we'd do without Pam - she goes above and beyond every day and brings innovative solutions in challenging times. Thanks Pam!”

“Over the last year, we have lost a few of our longer serving staff members which has led to large losses of institutional, new hires, and lots of training. Pam has been critical to keeping everything together, offering her experience, her expertise and tons of patience in helping new folks to get set up and get us functioning back to previous levels. Pam has also just taken over a role as financial specialist which was much needed in Department and which she is doing a ton of new trainings to get a handle on. She has always been invaluable to us, but the extra efforts over the last year are really meriting an applause award.”

She has extensive knowledge about the Psychology Department and is always willing to share it with others. Pam is incredibly patient and gentle when showing me how to do something, and I can always go to her with questions without ever feeling embarrassed or uncomfortable.
She consistently brings a positive attitude to work and brightens the day of everyone around her. Pam is a true team player who supports her coworkers and helps create a welcoming, collaborative environment. I truly enjoy working with her and couldn’t ask for a better teammate.”
