“Paulette is one of the hardest working and dedicated staff we have at CCFL. She is tireless in her support of her direct supervisees and others at CCFL. Paulette is always thinking of creative ways to stretch our grant dollars and provide the best possible support to our grantors. She is one in a million!”

“Paulette goes above and beyond as a supervisor and a co-worker to assist in whatever needs to be done for our training contract. She is always willing to listen and always finds a way to make you feel important and supported. Paulette puts in numerous hours and still comes to work with a smile on her face and willing to extend a helping hand. She is knowledgeable in all areas of training! I'm recommending Paulette because she is an outstanding supervisor, co-worker, and mentor and I've been fortunate to work with her for 20 years!”

“Paulette is an incredible supervisor. She handles so much and at any given time will drop what she is doing to assist her FTS's. Not only does she train well in the classroom, I am always learning something from watching her. I feel that she really listens to me and always does her best to support my work. She is spread thin throughout the state and yet manages to be available to all!! I continue to enjoy working for such a kind hearted, driven person!”

“I am nominating Paulette Sombke, as she is truly deserving of so much more than just Applause. She goes above and beyond the call of duty in so many areas - always willing to step in and help train or facilitate when assistance is needed; juggling many different "hats" effortlessly and always with a smile whether it is training, writing and/or updating curriculum, providing continuous support to all of the Field Training Specialists, and so much more. When it comes to supporting her staff, she is always there when needed, is very responsive to questions, and stands by you to support you in all areas that arise. She goes above and beyond to provide recognition to her staff, finding creative ways to reward and motivate us and cheer us on. She is selflessly giving of not only her time, her knowledge and expertise, but also giving of small personal items and gifts to recognize us in selfless ways, organizing team building activities to help unite us as a team, often using her own personal money in these endeavors to encourage and unite us. She a great supervisor, cheerleader, and friend to us all, and we would not be where we are today without her tremendous leadership. Paulette is the epitome of what it means to "give it your all”, and to go above and beyond the call of duty – Please give her an Applause! ”

“Paulette Sombke works at the UNL Center on Children, Families, and Law (CCFL) and is the employee every employer dreams of having work for them. She meets all expectations in her dual roles as both a trainer and as the coordinator of the field-training staff. Paulette works tirelessly in training. Although she lives outstate, she is always traveling to and staying in Lincoln to be available to train although this means she is away from her family. Paulette truly is an inspiration in her work ethic. No matter how she is feeling, how tired she is, or burned out from multiple days of training, you never hear her complain, you never see her be short with trainees or trainers, and she never passes up an opportunity to provide the best training she can. In addition, she is always willing to take on additional training to support follow staff, cover make-up trainings, attend meetings, or manage requests to make sure that CCFL is responsive to the training contract and that the work gets done! She is truly a role model in her passion for the work of child protection and safety and her dedication to CCFL!”

“There are so many reasons why Paulette should receive Applause it is hard to find a starting point. Paulette, on a day to day basis, goes above and beyond what the expectations are for her. She is constantly taking on more responsibility to not only help her peers but also to assist the employees she supervises. From living out of a suitcase to answering her phone on her days off she is constantly putting everyone ahead of herself. I wish there were more awards for her to receive because she is deserving of them all. I wish that I could do more to show Paulette how appreciative I am of her guidance, work ethic, and her drive – please help us by giving her an Applause!”
