Zanib Al Razaq and Matthew Gillespie engaged in an immersive spring break trip to Ghana.
The Daugherty Water for Food Global Institute and the Clayton Yeutter Institute of International Trade and Finance partnered to provide the trip for them as Yeutter Student Fellows. The fellows have been tasked with researching how an irrigation company could best position itself to help meet the irrigation needs of the African continent.
Al Razaq, majoring in Spanish and economics, has a passion for human rights and food insecurity and experience in refugee resettlement, development, and data analytics. Al Razaq's interest is in international trade law and strong aspirations to build a career in this field.
Gillespie ('25) majored in economics and political science. With hands-on experience at Union Pacific and a focus on international relations, trade, and law, he is pursuing a future career as an elected official.
The Yeutter Student Fellows program connects knowledge gained in the classroom with professional development. Every year, the cohort includes four students from different majors and colleges across campus who work together around international trade while learning to see related issues from different perspectives.
