Drashti Bhatt and Chad Brassil have been selected as Fellows for the inaugural cohort of the Nebraska Strategic Data Leadership Network. The network is part of the Strategic Data Project (SDP), an initiative of the Center for Education Policy Research at Harvard University, in collaboration with the Nebraska Statewide Workforce and Educational Reporting System (NSWERS).
The project seeks to boost data capabilities and drive student success across Nebraska's higher education institutions and state agencies in the postsecondary landscape. The fellows establish the network—a community of strategic data leaders and thinkers dedicated to improving data use across the state and, ultimately, enhancing outcomes for Nebraska’s students.
Bhatt is Sr. Director of IT, Data Analytics and Application Development in the College of Arts and Sciences' Dean's Office. Brassil is an associate professor in the School of Biological Sciences.
Bhatt and Brassil will embark on a two-year series of educational workshops, knowledge sharing, and collaborations with peers. Key outcomes for this fellowship include the execution of individual analysis projects, enhanced skills through SDP training, and the creation of a thriving community of data leaders who share resources and innovations to impact the strategic use of data across Nebraska’s post-secondary network.
Institutions include the state's six community colleges, the Nebraska State College System, the University of Nebraska System, and Little Priest Tribal College.
