The Center on Children, Families, and the Law (CCFL) was one of two Nebraska organizations to receive a Women Investing in Nebraska (WIN) grant to advance programs that strengthen communities across the state.

Nebraska schools continue to face growing challenges in supporting student well-being while maintaining academic standards. Issues such as trauma, poverty, and family instability can significantly impact student learning, while educators—particularly in rural areas—often experience burnout and limited access to specialized training.

With support from the $147,909 WIN grant, CCFL will develop "Trauma Capable Schools," a cost-effective, self-paced online training platform for rural school districts. The program will feature six trauma-capable modules that equip educators, administrators, and staff with evidence-based strategies to improve student outcomes and teacher retention—all without disrupting daily school schedules.

WIN announced the recipients of its 14th Annual WIN Grants during a celebration held October 8, 2025.

Congratulations to CCFL for their continued commitment to creating positive change across Nebraska.
