Favorite book and why:
Picking a favorite book is hard! My favorite book (at the moment) is "A Fate Inked in Blood" by Danielle Jensen. This novel is a Norse-inspired fantasy, just an all-around fun read!

Favorite movie and why:
The Proposal with Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds is my favorite movie. I am a sucker for a good romcom, and Sandra Bullock movies were special to my mom and I. I have fond memories of spending time with my mom while The Proposal was on in the background.

Why Anthropology?
I am studying Anthropology because I have always had a passion for history. With anthropology being such a broad field, I felt like I was able to experience a number of potential paths, between museum studies, archaeology, forensic and cultural anthropology.

The two best courses I have taken are ANTH 492 and ANTH 463. Both courses provided me with hands-on experience crafting a museum exhibit. ANTH 492 gave me the opportunity to also learn how museums function behind the scenes. If you are a new anthropology major or are another major, I would recommend just looking at some ANTH courses. Anthropology really covers a broad range of topics, so check out ANTH 214 (Food and Culture) or ANTH 243 (Bodies of Evidence) to see the depth of this major. If you are interested in culture, history, forensics, or education, you should consider anthropology. Being able to study people, how they interact, and

Extracurricular Experiences:
I have not had many extra-curricular experiences as much of my time outside of school is spent working, but getting involved with clubs is a great experience. Going to the Horticulture club meetings has been fascinating, especially if you love plants of any kind. Going to club meetings is also a great way to make friends. I start an internship at the International Quilt Museum in a couple weeks. Applying for the micro-internships offered through UNL offers a great way to gain professional experience, something I am grateful for as a first-generation college student.

Post-Graduation Plans:
I plan to go into museum work after graduation. While I have nothing set in stone yet, I know I am passionate about the museum sector and cannot wait to work on more exhibitions, or even in collections care.
