Eight University of Nebraska-Lincoln undergraduate students developed a system that diagnoses nervous system conditions by reading muscle movements in the fingers and face.

In October, Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital and the Center of Brain, Biology and Behavior will begin testing a prototype called ForceWIN10. It is an upgrade to a previous system that now includes wireless tools and a tablet application.

The team of students earned the Raikes School of Computer Science’s platinum award for best design studio project last school year. The students came from four discplines and includes computer science major Heitor Castro.
