I chose geology to explore different sciences and apply them all to earth systems. I have always enjoyed physics and chemistry, but I wanted to work outside with nature.
Geology seemed like the best combination of my interests; it was the best decision I've ever made. The support I've received from the Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences over the last 3.5 years was truly amazing!
Favorite course
Some favorite courses were Depositional Environments (GEOL 301), Structural Geology (GEOL 400), Modeling Earth Systems (455), and Women and Gender Studies (WMNS 101).
Strongest mentors or role models
My strongest mentors were Jamie Shamrock, Erin Haacker, Cara Burberry, and Irina Filina.
Internship or job
I have worked for USGS as a student hydrologist for almost 2 years.
Involved on campus or community
I go to yoga at the rec 1-2 times a week.
Plans after graduation
I will be working for MILCO Environmental Services, Inc. as a geologist! I just passed my FG exam this semester!
