Ovation for Sarah Wagelie

Sarah Wagelie

Sarah Wagelie

Student worker
Department of Political Science

September 2015

“Anyone who interacts with the department via our website will understand why Sarah deserves this award. Sarah really takes pride in making sure our internet presence, which is really the face we present to the world, is up‐to‐date, informative and useful. We probably take it too much for granted, but in reality it is all due to Sarah’s hard work and creativity. She’s really become a key member of the administrative team in our department and her contributions more than deserve the recognition this award brings! Please
give her an Ovation!”

“Running a website, improving web presence, advertising department happenings and awards requires coordination and timelines. Sarah does all of these incredibly well. But Sarah does so much more than what her job title requires! Sarah’s attitude is an amazing bright spot in the department! She is enthusiastic, outgoing, positive and kind. She has a great sense of humor that makes just about any task, mundane or challenging, seem just a little easier. Sarah has done a fantastic job of not only maintaining our website but also researching new internships for her fellow POLS majors and updating them on the website. Sarah is the go-to person for wiring department news stories and posting events.

“We know that an increased web presence is an important thing for the department and even though it’s tough to measure we are confident that Sarah has had a tremendous impact there. Sarah has also had a huge impact on the cultural climate of the department. It’s so important that faculty get a chance to interact and work with the undergraduates here at UNL. Sarah has represented her fellow undergrads exceptionally well. This is the only problem with Sarah. Soon she will graduate and we will all be excited to see where she goes and what she does. We will be excited for whoever gets to work with Sarah next but the department will miss Sarah’s work and attitude. So while I still can I want to nominate Sarah Wagelie for a much deserved Ovation!”

“Sarah rocks! If you have time please take a look at the Political Science website. Sarah has done excellent work with regards to the website. She is a self-starter and she interacts with faculty, graduate students, staff, and the Dean’s staff with regards to the website. I have had others remark about our website and the credit solely goes to Sarah for updating, adding timely information, and just keeping the website vibrant. For this, and many other reasons, I strongly believe that Sarah deserves the Ovation Award!”
