  • Must submit required narrative for Dean’s Experiential Learning Awards

Phil & Kathy Boardman Scholarship Fund for the Humanities
  • $500
  • Awarded to students studying in the area of Humanities (defined to include: Anthropology, Classics & religious Studies, English, History, Medieval & Renaissance Studies, Modern Languages and Literature, and Philosophy).
  • Junior or Senior standing
  • GPA of 3.0 or above

Chancellor’s Scholarship for Math & Science
  • $5,000
  • Undergraduate majoring in either science or mathematics

John D. Clarke Courage and Commitment Fund
  • $1,500
  • Enrolled in the College for Arts and Sciences
  • For study abroad
  • Must submit required narrative for Dean’s Experiential Learning Awards

Paul & Bernice Crounse College of Arts and Sciences Scholarship Fund
  • $1,400
  • Student must be enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences
  • Must be a graduate from Central High School, Omaha NE
  • Preference given to incoming freshman
  • Preference based on financial need

Dean’s Experiential Learning Scholarship
  • Up to $1,500
  • Approximately 10 scholarships
  • Full-time undergraduate in the College of Arts and Sciences
  • Junior or Senior standing – in semester for which scholarship is effective

Timothy and Claudia Divis Global Engagement Scholarship Fund

Larry Doerr Scholarship Fund for Arts and Sciences

  • Undergraduate enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences
  • Preference given to students studying in the area of Humanities (defined to include Classics, Communication Studies, Philosophy, English, History and Modern Languages)

Herbert Thomas and Lilah David Folsom Memorial Scholarship

  • Undergraduate enrolled in the pre-medicine program in the College of Arts and Sciences
  • GPA of 3.0 or better

Roland J. Hjorth Scholarship Fund

  • Preference given to students from educationally or economically disadvantaged backgrounds prior to enrollment at UNL
  • Requires a separate narrative

Carroll R. McKibbin Scholarship Fund

  • GPA of 3.0 or above
  • Preference given to students who have demonstrated academic merit and accomplishments

Charles D. and Betty J. McKinsey Scholarship

Martina McMenamin Memorial Scholarship
  • $1,000 - $1,200
  • Sophomore standing or above
  • GPA of 3.0 or better

  • Graduate of Daniel J. Gross High School; if no qualified applicants, candidate may be graduate of any Nebraska High School

Louis Max Meyer Fund for Nebraska History

  • CAS History Major
  • Preference given to students who focus on Nebraska History

Dr. Walter Mientka STEM Scholarship Fund
  • $1,000
  • graduate of a Nebraska high school
  • pursuing a major in a STEM discipline within the College of Arts and Sciences
  • preference may be given to students with demonstrated participation in All Girls All Math summer camp, Women in Science Conference at UNL, Grace Hopper Celebration, Husker Hoppers Program, Association for Women in Science UNL student group, Women Undergraduates in Mathematics at Nebraska, and/or Society of Women Engineers UNL student group

Moss Family Arts & Sciences Memorial Scholarship

Sallie W. Nixon Educational Scholarship

  • Full-time undergraduate in the College of Arts and Sciences

Samuel H. Perry, M.D. & Patricia B. Perry, Ph.D, Scholarship Fund

  • Enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences

  • GPA of 3.0 or above
  • Graduate of a Nebraska High School
  • Expressed a desire to pursue a career in the area of health or medical profession following graduation

Henry and Dorothy Riekes Scholarship

  • Sophomore or above
  • Currently enrolled in one course which applies to the minor in Jewish Studies
  • One letter of recommendation should come from a faculty member affiliated with the Norman and Bernice Harris Center for Judaic Studies

  • Undergraduate enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences
  • GPA of 3.0 or above
  • Preference given to graduates of a high school located in the following counties: Adams, Buffalo, Furnas, Hall Hamilton, Harlan, Hayes, or Red Willow
  • Preference given to those demonstrating financial need

  • One semester as a public service intern

Judith L Stewart Gross Non- Traditional Student Scholarship Fund
  • $1,000 minimum
  • pursuing a major in the College of Arts and Sciences
  • preference given to juniors and seniors
  • non-traditional w/preference given to candidates who are single custodial parents of a minor child or children
  • demonstrated financial need
  • preference given to candidates who strive to balance their work, family, and other important commitments with school.

Eunice Stout Endowed Scholarship Fund

Max John and Pauline H. Stuermer Scholarship

  • Female undergraduate enrolled in pre-medicine program in the College of Arts and Sciences
  • Major in the humanities as defined by the Dean, College of Arts and Sciences

Robert O. and Gloria L. Vesper Scholarship Fund for the Sciences
  • $2,000 - $6,000
  • Undergraduate student with a sophomore standing or above Majoring in Geology, Geography, Meteorology-Climatology, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science or Math
  • GPA of 3.0 or better
  • Demonstrated financial need
  • Graduate of a Nebraska High School (preference given to those students from Brown, Rock, Keya Paha, Cherry, Holt, and Boyd counties)

Stan & Gladys Whitcomb Arts and Sciences STEM Scholarship
  • Minimum of 50% of estimated tuition and fees
  • Enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences
  • pursuing a major in one of the STEM disciplines - "hard" science, technology, engineering and mathematics in A&S (including Actuarial Science, Biochemistry, Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Computer Science, Geology, Mathematics, Meteorology/Climatology, Microbiology, Physics & Astronomy, Plant Biology;
  •  High School graduate of any Nebraska County EXCEPT Douglas, Lancaster & Sarpy
  • preference to demonstrated financial need.

  • Declared major in a humanities field as defined by the Dean, College of Arts and Sciences
  • Top 10% of high school graduating class
  • Demonstrated excellence in course work at UNL
  • Participation and leadership in school and community activities
  • Preference to students demonstrating financial need

Morley & Charlotte Zipursky Scholarship Fund
  • $2,000 minimum
  • Enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences
  • Preference given to those pursuing a major in the Department of English with a concentration in literature
