Major(s)

Microbiology

Sophomore
Plainfield, Illinois

Why you chose your major

I chose microbiology because I like biology and thought it would be interesting to go more in depth into biological sciences.

Favorite and/or most impactful course

Calculus 1sts the biggest impact on me because it’s the hardest class I’ve taken but it made me realize that the professors are willing to help you. It also made me realize that I can do hard things if I put in the effort.

Research or internship experience

I interned at my orthodontist’s office over the summer and learned so much. I got to work hands on with patients and learn what goes on with clients and behind the scenes. The hands on work allowed me to interact with patients and work on my bedside manners and the behind the scenes work gave me better insight to the technical and business side of orthodontics.

Other involvement

I am in the sorority Kappa Delta here at UNL. We have multiple service events and philanthropies where we work to help better our community and those within it.

Why you chose Nebraska

I chose UNL because of the strong academic programs, beautiful campus, and all of the extracurricular activities open to students.
