Major(s)
Biological Sciences (Pre-Dental)
Minor(s)
Business
Grand Island, NE
Why you chose your major
I chose Biological Sciences as my major because many of the required classes align with dental school pre-requisites, but I also enjoy taking STEM classes. I chose to do a business minor because I find many of the business courses to be interesting, helpful, and applicable to real life. These classes are also a nice break from all of the science classes.
Favorite and/or most impactful course
My favorite and most impactful course was General Chemistry with Dr. Kautz. This course was not only challenging but also important in teaching me how to study and manage my time. Dr. Kautz's truly cares about the success of his students and rewards those who invest time and effort into the subject. This course taught me many skills that has helped me in the upper level science classes.
Other involvement
I volunteer at the Lincoln Lighthouse which is an after school program for at-risk youth. I also volunteer at Clinic with a Heart where I am a dental assistant helping UNMC dentists with teeth extractions. Other than that I am involved in Order of Omega and the pre-dental club.
Why you chose Nebraska
I chose to attend UNL because both of my brothers studied here and had a positive experience, and my dad also attended and spoke highly of the university. I was drawn to the school based on their recommendations and the great things I heard about it.
Student Ambassadors are undergraduate students who talk to prospective students, parents, alumni, and the general public about the college.
