Why you chose your major
I knew I was interested in international affairs, government, and law but I didn't know what really fit for me. Global Studies encompassed everything I was interested in but also was very flexible for me to explore other majors and classes. I knew I wanted to study abroad and with the large push for all Global Studies students to get abroad experience, I knew I was a Global Studies major.

Favorite and/or most impactful course
The class that has made the biggest impact on me has been one of my online courses, Street Art: Visual Voice in the Urban Environment which is about street artists around the world and their impacts on communities. I originally enrolled in the class to complete my ACE 2 requirement but as I go through the lectures and even made my own street art poster, it has steered me toward thinking about jobs and a future in urban planning.

Research or internship experience
As a freshman, I mostly am focusing on getting used to applying to internships and improving my resume. I have applied to two different law internships this year and I have been able to take advantage of the career coaches that the college to answer my questions and check my resume and cover letters. Since I was able to apply and also work on my resume, I am a lot more confident about applying to internships and other jobs.

Other involvement
I am involved in the Mock Trial Organization at the university. My high school didn't have any opportunities that had anything I was interested in so when I got to school, I joined mock trial. In joining mock trial, I was able to make friends and connections with people that had similar goals as well as learning different law procedures. At the end of the fall semester, I was appointed as the C-Team's captain and later voted in to lead the team to regionals in February. It has taught me how to run meetings/practices, communicate with others, and how to support a team as a whole.

Why you chose Nebraska
I decided to come to Nebraska because of the opportunities the university offered and because of the quality of education I'd be able to get.
