Why you chose your major
I chose to major in Biochemistry and Nutrition & Biomedical Sciences, with minors in Humanities in Medicine and Business, because these fields allow me to explore healthcare from multiple perspectives. They provide diverse learning experiences that will prepare me to serve others with knowledge, empathy, and leadership.

Favorite and/or most impactful course
The class that has had the biggest impact on me is Human Nutrition and Metabolism. It reshaped the way I understand health and disease, showing me how deeply nutrition can influence patient outcomes and the critical role prevention and lifestyle play in long-term health. This perspective has strengthened my commitment to a future in the medical field, where I hope to integrate strong scientific knowledge with patient-centered care to address both the causes and consequences of disease.

Research or internship experience
At sixteen, I completed an accelerated CNA course and began working at an assisted living facility, where I have now been employed for nearly three years. Making a meaningful difference in residents’ lives is the reason I love my job, and despite its challenges, I always leave each shift with a smile on my face. This experience has given me early exposure to patient care and has strongly affirmed my desire to pursue a career in medicine.

Other involvement
My involvements include Chi Omega, the Honors Program, Dance Marathon, the ASUN Academic Committee, coaching tennis at Woods Tennis Center, and volunteering at Bryan Health. I work PRN as a Certified Nursing Assistant in my hometown as well.

Why you chose Nebraska
There truly is no place like Nebraska! While I considered several other universities, the University of Nebraska–Lincoln quickly became the clear choice for me because of its exceptional academic opportunities, vibrant campus life, and, of course, Husker spirit.
