Why you chose your major
I chose my major because I was able to take an infectious disease course in high school through UNMC, and I loved it.

Favorite and/or most impactful course
Calculus has made the biggest impact on me because I took it during my first semester of college, and it taught me a lot of valuable study skills that have helped me in future classes.

Research or internship experience
I am currently doing research with Dr. Samodha Fernando on east campus. We do research mainly over the microbiome of the rumen in cattle, and a lot of DNA analysis. We also do some microbiology research with testing bacteria resistance with different concentrations.

Other involvement
I currently have a leadership position, ritualist, in my sorority. I am captain of an intramural soccer team that plays each spring. I also volunteer at People’s City Mission on the weekends here in Lincoln.

Why you chose Nebraska
I decided to come to Nebraska to be close to home, and UNL had a lot of different opportunities I’d be able to get involved.

Student Ambassadors are undergraduate students who talk to prospective students, parents, alumni, and the general public about the college.
