Serving as an undergraduate Teaching Assistant for BIOS 111 “Introduction to Microbiology and Human Health,” Himanshu Gandhi is not just fulfilling a role, but helping and inspiring many students.
Himanshu, a third-year microbiology and English major, prides himself on helping students understand the fundamentals of microbial lab studies and the basics of research and data collection.
“I hope that as their instructor, my students will gain insight on the importance of microbes and their implications in clinical settings.”
Himanshu is one of the many Honors students who serve as teaching assistants to help the students and faculty with various tasks for a successful class.
He shares, “My role consists of prep work, presentations, and lectures, live demonstrations, hands-on aid during the lab time, and meeting with students outside of the lab to help them with assignments and lab reports.”
