Tanaka Nozomi is a sophomore political science major interning with the Do More Good Movement, a nonprofit empowering businesses to adopt purpose-driven practices.
Throughout her experience, Nozomi has gained familiarity with professional environments, learning how to write proper communications and gaining confidence in working with other professionals. Although initially intimidating, she has also discovered the value of seeking support and guidance from others.
“I realized the importance of asking for help from others instead of trying to solve everything on my own. It is, of course, important to find solutions on your own, but by consulting with others, you can learn solutions that you may not have thought of and work more efficiently.”
Moving forward, Nozomi is excited to apply the communication and problem-solving skills she’s gained to both her professional and academic pursuits.
“I believe that the experience I gained from this program will be useful in the research activities I would like to undertake in the future,” she shared. “In conducting research, I sometimes need to communicate with professors and subjects, and I sometimes encounter unexpected happenings. In those situations, I can utilize the skills I learned from this experience!”
