Political Science/Pre Law

Why you chose your major
I chose my political science major because of my interest in government, leadership, and public policy. I am passionate in understanding how the systems of power and policy shape society and I want to be able to make an impact in the future. I also chose Pre Law advising track because I want to use the foundation that political science will provide me to attend Law School and become an immigration attorney.
Favorite and/or most impactful course
The class that has made the biggest impact on me so far was Writing for Change which is essentially an English writing class. This class helped me express myself through writing and helped me speak up about issues that I truly care about. I have also made great connections and friendships through this class.
Research or internship experience
Being a legislative page at South Dakota State Capitol in Pierre was an amazing experience that brought me closer to the legislative process and helped me connect with so many successful people whose advice I carry on to this day. During my internship, we spent a good amount of time answering phone calls from citizens and delivering messages to Legislators concerning citizens' support for or against bills.
Other involvement
At Nebraska, I am involved in ASUN Student Government where I am a part of the Sexual Misconduct Committee and I plan on getting more involved in Student Government throughout my college career.
Why you chose Nebraska
I decided to come to Nebraska because I was looking for an out of state school with a good political science program that is far enough to feel independent but still close to home. Nebraska fit all of those and I loved the school spirit and how dedicated the university was to student's well being.
Student Ambassadors are undergraduate students who talk to prospective students, parents, alumni, and the general public about the college.
