Why you chose your major
I chose my major because I have always been interested in answering the 'why?' behind the actions of others, especially in the criminal sense. This leads into my minors, which are criminal justice and sociology. I chose these as my minors because they help build upon the topics of psychology while offering different theories and ways of thinking.
Favorite and/or most impactful course
The class that has made the biggest impact on me has been Multivariate Research Design (PSYC451) because it has challenged me and pushed me to be more complex in my research designs and data analysis, which is a super important aspect of psychology.
Research or internship experience
One experience I have had throughout my time at Nebraska was volunteering at CenterPointe, which is an outpatient center in Lincoln. Here, I was able to work with diverse groups of people and assist in getting them involved in treatment programs and putting them in contact with mental health professionals at the organization.
Other involvement
I am apart of Psi Chi, the psychology honors society which allows me to collaborate with other psychology students, and also network with professionals in the field.
Why you chose Nebraska
I decided to come to Nebraska because of the sense of community I felt when I stepped on campus. Everyone was so welcoming and friendly, it felt like I had established a home away from home before even enrolling in classes!
Student Ambassadors are undergraduate students who talk to prospective students, parents, alumni, and the general public about the college.
