Why you chose your major
I am a big believer in studying what you are passionate about. History is something I am passionate about and it is something that feels natural to me. I feel that there is a lot we can learn from studying the past, and I hope to emulate that belief in my future career. I wanted to deepen that connection to my major by specializing in areas like Classics and Anthropology.
Favorite and/or most impactful course
My freshman Honors seminar on the History of Anticolonialism set the course for my entire college experience. In that class, I met my faculty mentor, with whom I have been collaborating with on historical research ever since. That course also allowed me to meet many of my peers and establish a community on campus.
Research or internship experience
For three years, I have worked on a historical research project called "Anticolonials: A World History." It has provided me with many of the technical skills I will need in my future career. I also have an internship with Leadership Lincoln through the Intern Foundry, in which I use some of the same skills toward a project that gives back to the Lincoln community.
Other involvement
I am a member of UNL Honors Program, the CAS Student Advisory Board, and I am the president of the UNL History Club!
Student Ambassadors are undergraduate students who talk to prospective students, parents, alumni, and the general public about the college.
