Why you chose your major
I chose my major, Biochemistry, due to my interest in the overlap between my favorite academic disciplines: Biology and Chemistry.
Favorite and/or most impactful course
Humanities in Medicine (HMED397) is a course that I am currently enrolled in, and it has made the biggest impact on me by emphasizing the role the humanities have played in healthcare by contextualizing historical outbreaks, malpractice, mistakes that were made by the Western world, and how we as a society have learned from them.
Research or internship experience
I am currently involved in campus research through the UCARE program! My project focuses on the evolutionary and structural biology of 7SK RNA, regarding specific vertebrate RNA constructs. The end goal is to compare and contrast the differences between humans and the selected vertebrates!
Other involvement
I work as a learning consultant with the Center for Academic Success and Transition to provide free tutoring services to any and all UNL students!
Why you chose Nebraska
I chose Nebraska to be close to home!
