Why did you select your major(s) and minor(s)? Were there any experiences that convinced you to declare?

I've always had a huge passion for History, and I want to develop a way to show how interesting and rewarding the study of the past really is.

What is your favorite course?

My favorite course so far has been History 335, The Era of the American Revolution taught by Professor Coltrain. I grew to appreciate both the genius and shortcomings of the founding fathers, and improved my historical writing and research skills through the course's challenging assignments.

Have you had an internship/job?

In the summer of 2019, I worked at Mutual of Omaha Insurance on their data science team. There, I engaged in machine learning model development, created data visualizations, and conducted my own natural language processing experiments. This alternative way of evaluating data was an interesting contrast to my traditional historical analysis.

What are you involved in on campus?

Chi Omega, The College of Arts and Sciences Student Advisory Board, Nebraska Honors Peer Mentor Leader.

What are your plans after graduation?

I plan to pursue a career in data science or data analytics, and then attend a master's program after a few years of work.
