Anthro Week starts Feb 15

Anthro Week, an interactive week with the Department of Anthropology, starts on February 15, 2016. It is co-sponsored by AnthroGroup and the Anthropology Alumni and Friends Advisory Board.


Monday, February 15: Creating Opportunities

  • 4-5 pm: Undergrad research fair
  • 5-6 pm: Panel: Translating your anthropology major into your first job
  • 6-7 pm: Find a mentor: alumni and friends meet and greet

Thursday, February 18: National Anthropology Day

From 4:30-6:30 pm, there will be an Open House on the 8th floor. Graduate students will present lightning talks on their thesis research. The 8th floor laboratories will be open showcasing the work students and faculty are doing on a variety of topics, including digital heritage: the 3D virtual reconstructions of skeletal elements, artifacts, buildings, and landscapes.


Friday, February 19: Anthropology Beyond the Classroom

  • Field schools and study abroad
