An Applause for

Lindsay Augustyn

Assistant Director and Communications Coordinator
Center for Science, Mathematics and Computer Education

“Lindsay helped orchestrate the first ever UNL All Staff Conference. She brought her expertise of event planning and technology to the table and helped the All Staff Conference steering committee plan an in-person event which, due to COVID, was switched to a virtual event. Lindsay always has "we can make this happen" attitude and inspires the team. I can say that without Lindsay this event, that affected all staff at UNL, would not have happened. Lindsay is an amazing asset to have on your team!”

“Lindsay recently served as the Facilitator for all of the presentations at the Virtual All-Staff Conference. This involved the planning of breakout rooms and polls for over 100 individuals for each session, as well her technical ability to make all 33 sessions run smoothly. Without Lindsay's expertise, the conference would not have been successful. This is something that none of the rest of us on the steering committee would have been able to do. Lindsay's performance from the beginning of the planning process through the culmination of the event was awesome!”

“It is with great pleasure that I nominate Lyndsay Augustyn for the Arts and Sciences Applause Award. Lindsay was at the heart of planning and implementing the first-ever UNL All-Staff EMPOWERMENT Conference, May 12-14, 2021. Lindsay signed on for the work in 2019 and stayed with us as we postponed our 2020 event, then led our pivot to a virtual event in the spring of 2021. Lindsay’s dedication, considerable knowledge of event planning, drive to create an excellent event, and passion for serving the participants’ needs were paramount. She spent a lot of time on this conference, which served the 800-plus-staff registrants across the University in an unparalleled learning and development opportunity. One attendee commented on watching Lindsay work during a Zoom session ̶ headphones on and simultaneously monitoring participants, fielding in-meeting polls and chat, and taking a phone call in the middle of it all. That image puts all of Lindsay’s valuable work over two years of planning into a nutshell. As chair of the Conference, I am deeply grateful for her contribution. I will say without hesitation that we couldn’t have pulled off this unique event without her. Thank you for considering Lindsay for this valuable recognition.”
