Faculty do not need to include the face covering statement in their syllabi.
Class recordings and intellectual property
Some instructors have raised concerns about students recording class-related activity, particularly in how that relates to their intellectual property. Text has been approved by university general counsel for addition to the syllabus section of Canvas courses. The decision of whether to include the text can be made at the instructor level, but the protections described in the text will only apply to the course if the text is included in the course information.
Student concerns and feedback
Instructors are also encouraged to use the approved statement regarding addressing “student concerns and feedback.” Please be sure to clarify the appropriate point of contact for your unit (e.g., chair or director and preferred contact information).
