The university's commencement event on May 9, Go Big Grad: A Husker Graduation Celebration, will feature messages from Chancellor Green, Coach Cook, and other special guests. The College of Arts and Sciences' own Dean Button recorded a special message for graduates as well.

To further communicate how proud we are of each CAS student receiving a degree—recognizing their perseverance and celebrating their accomplishment—a custom video was created for each graduate and will be emailed to them prior to the graduation celebration. Here's an example.

About 850 of the nearly 3,550 degrees to be conferred are from the college.

Spring 2020 graduates received a Go Big Grad box at their residence, which included a mortarboard or tam and other special items—allowing them to turn their tassels together as a class.

"While it's a disappointment to all of us that we can't share this celebration in person," Vanessa Gorman, professor of history and chair of the university’s commencement committee, said, "we want to provide students the closest thing to it."
